Very nice build for a DIY project. I would much rather spend 30 bucks for a cheapy softbox though :lmao: and spend my time shooting instead.

I've built some of my own softboxes, all of which came out like crap. Its a good thought, but I'd suggest just buying a decent one.

The flood of new, inexpensive Chinese-made softboxes that retail at $29 or $39 or even $99 has, for me, diminished much of the allure of these DIY softbox building plans. Two years ago, I bought two very nice Chinese-made no-brand models, one priced at $29, and one with a recessed face, and an optional fabric grid for $39. Both included metal speed rings! I bought them from a League City, Texas-based e-Bay vendor. Still, the DIY model shown in the video looks like it is a pretty good homemade model. Might be worth it if one wants say a large box, but doesn't want to pay a lot for it.
