I like the birds, and specially their color, but I find the background a bit confusing. Have you tried darkening it a bit?

I agree that the background is distracting but at the same time, I like this shot because they appear to be totally out of the element and natural environment.

Intesting composition. But your background just kills it. You need to use DOF so that we don't see the background as anything more then a blurr.
