If youre going to take money from taxpayers, and then say that only certain people can utilize those public services being funded from it, then the better solution to stop collecting taxes and to privatize EMS and only help those who pay for it.

you're avoiding answering the questions but we can assume what you'd choose.

I think 'hate' is a bit strong, but the root of it would be that in order for the society that we have created over many generations, to function with something at least resembling effency, we need rules. People who choose not to follow those rules should not be able to reap the benefits of our society since allowing that removes the incentive for adherence.

I think what we need here, (the United States) is harsher punitive damages for offenders.
I have heard that in some European countries, drunk driving gets your license revoked permanently. (anyone across the pond that can confirm/debunk that?)
I cant say much more without dragging the thread into a quasi-political debate, but I will say that it seems to me
when you have a country where someone can get 2-3 drunk driving arrests and still get their drivers license back...something needs to change.

Its harder here because the vast majority of this country needs a vehicle to get to and from work. Europe has a much better public transportation system. Take away a license in the US and you pretty much take away a persons ability to earn a living.

Not saying it's right or wrong but thats just they way it is.
