This mantis was very cooperative given that when she flew into my garden, it took me like forever to run in the house, setup my camera, run back outside and hoped she was still there. Lady Luck was on mys die for once.

Thanks Jeff. Because I am homebound at the moment, I've been lurking and working around the gardens surrounding the house looking for photo ops to keep me busy while I mend myself up. The mantis pic was one of those opportunities. Lesson learned was to keep my go-to camera armed with 100-400 glass and my backup point and shoot within arms reach, especially during the golden hours.

Thank you! Not technically Kama'aina, I was stationed at Hickam and managed to buy a two-bedroom condo in Waipio Valley (back when realestate was cheap) and spent some wonderful years there. It is also where I met my wife.
