Manual aperture ajust on my Nikon lens on my Lumix G7

I have a Panasonic Lumix G7 that I am using my Nikon lens on via K&F Concepts adapter. There is no manual aperture ring on the lens or adapter. So it appears I am stuck at f11 or whatever the stop down is for this lens.

Does anyone have any workaround for this that allows the adjustment of the aperture since there is no electrical connection to the camera and no aperture ring?

Is there an adapter that does have an aperture adjustment ring or some way to force the lens wide open?

Sorry. You are out of luck because the Nikon lens also requires a mechanical connection for a camera body to adjust the lens aperture.

When a Nikon lens is mounted on a Nikon body that mechanical connection opens the lens to its widest aperture and a motor in the body then when the shutter is released the motor changes the aperture size according to the aperture settings.

If you look closely at the lens mount you will see the small tab used to open/close the lens aperture, and you can open the lens by hand with the lens off the camera.

I do not have direct experience with this -- yet. As far as I know, the "better" adapters will have a turn-able ring that moves a lever inside the adapter to open or close the aperture. I actually have an adapter like that, but I do not have a lens to try it on. There are other lens brands where similar adapters need to do this as well. As a general comment, you have to be careful when installing the lens on the adapter to make sure that the lever is in the right place. If it is not, then you might even damage the moving thing in the lens.

That is one of problems of Nikon lenses on m4/3 cameras.
It is FULL manual, auto NOTHING.

Even with the adapters with the aperture adjusting ring, you may want to roughly "calibrate" that ring, to have some idea of what aperture you are using. Otherwise it is simply wide open to narrow and just watch the cameras meter.

IMHO, the OLDER manual lenses with a good manual focusing ring and an aperture ring are probably the best to put onto a m4/3 camera, since NONE of the adapters will auto couple anything on the lens to the camera.

Solution - buy older AI / AI-S or newer ones with the "D" suffix (not the "G") such as the AF 50mm f/1.8D. These will have aperture rings. If you can live with manual focus, they are not outrageously priced on the used market.
