Manual focusing on a 50mm 1.4

Thanks for the tips.

I had a bit of trouble with it today when I was outside at the park. But there was too much motion and wind etc and I could not lock focus quick enough, so for this lens I need to stick to stationary subjects.

One thing I notice is shooting wide open...lets in soooo much light. Durrr I know, but it's just neat as I have never had a lens open that much, changes a lot of things.

Once you get use to it you will be able to manually focus on moving subjects. Your camera probably has an electronic rangefinder. Can't really use it in manual mode - it uses the meter and when the meter reads 0 (in the center) you have focus!!! Not sure how to get to the rangefinder option for your camera but if you have the manual handy it'll tell you!

It does have range finder, I even know how to turn it on in the menu...I always wondered what that was for. lol. I noticed it on P modes
