Map Background

I need to shoot some portraits with a World Map background. I purchased a 13' x 9' 6-piece map, which is designed to be attached to a wall with wallpaper paste. I want to permanently attach the map onto a background fabric (muslin?), and mount that on one of my rollers. Any suggestions regarding fabric backing and/or adhesive for this job?

One option would be to sew a strip of the loop side of Velcro onto a fairly stiff fabric such as canvas, and stick the hook side to the map. The Velcro is flexible and should roll without any problems.
