That is the best time to do your shopping! :)

Nicely done. Curious on your settings since this was not a well lit area and I don't see a lot of noise. I'm assuming were likely hand holding this?

shot on D700 @5.6, 1/100, 24 mm iso 1250 (shot with a 24-70 on a Nikon D700)

shot hand-held
original was brighter but less interesting.

I always wonder if an image from the markets and streets of a well developed country have the same appeal/attraction/interest to a person from a less well developed country ... as a similar shot captured in a less well developed country has to those from a well developed country?

I did notice the square-ish crop. Being that I like things tight, very tight ... I would crop just above the neon sign and crop out the paper posted on the pillar on the left. (Not everybody likes tight.)

I am curious why the Italian shops are seemingly opened for business but the others are not. I understand the butcher getting his wares prepped for sale but not the shop across the way. Why are you there before sunrise on such a foggy day?

This was taken at 8:45 on a Thursday morning. About 65 degrees and windy but I was in a large space divided into many separate markets.

That's the time in the data.
I was on vacation and I can't imagine getting out to shoot much earlier than that.
