[Over Exposed]

These three are from a shoot yesterday. I'm a novice with indoor lighting and these are really my first stab at it and are at a foreign to me location. Give it to me hard and hang me up wet, I can take it

1. Under exposed and not real clear what she is leaning on - her knee I imagine. Contrast and brightness increase and a wider crop could help.

2. Too close with a too wide lens.

3. The best of the three. She looks quite orange don't you think, unless that is what you want.

I'm no pro, but i like 1&2. 3 doesnt do much for me especially with everything orange.
The only thing i see in #1 that could be better is more of her in the shot. Its a little tight, but i still like it.

I did not like 1 & 2, sorry; but i liked the third one in spite of its orange saturation

I like the poses in #2 and #3. The colors no.

I agree on the colors in #3. It's not what I personally would have wanted, but the client wanted a very 'warm' shot that complimented the site they are being used on which has a very warm feel to it.

Patrice, the 2nd shot was shot with a 50mm prime lens on a Nikon APS-C crop sensor which should equal out to about 75mm I believe. Would a 90mm equivalent from further back have been better in your opinion, or would you suggest something else?

The perspective of a 50 mm lens does not change with the size of the sensor. The opinion stated is just my own and is worth just about what you paid for it. However, I find the perspective of a short tele in the 85 to 135 mm range more pleasing for head and shoulders portraits. But that's me and my style, you have your own vision and that's good too. It'd be boring if we all took the same photographs.
