It took many, many, many tries to get the kid looking at the camera...I wasn't too worried about the dog. Even with all the shots, I still had to do some tweaking. Shhh...don't tell.

Our dog is totally part of the family. We have taken a family x-mas photo most of the last few years and Muffy is always in the photo with us.

My lighting was two B800 lights. One with a large softbox to camera left and the other with an umbrella was just to the right of the camera. If I had had time and more room, I would have added a hair light and maybe another one to put on the tree and/or background.
