where were you to take this. was he a tame bird (captive at least)? you don't see to many shots of raptors this close. it's too bad about his eye being dark though.

Absolutely beautiful shot. Its a tad dark or lacking contrast for my taste (the white feathers arent white enought to me, they dont quite 'pop' enough), but what a beautiful shot it is.

Love the shot, I like how his/her eyes are completely black, just like the background. Very mysterious. Love it.

After a second look, I take it back. The whites are perfect. Is that an artificial background, or did you use a flash? Either way, it worked wonders. Amazing shot.
