Really nice shot of the heron. Some suggestions for processing: remove blue cast, raise the contrast a lot, brighten the image and clone out that reed.

I see where you're going but my edit is what the scene looked like. It was a lightly overcast day and I don't usually bump the contrast at all in my shots.
