If i mount a Minolta 3200i Flash Unit (or similar) on my Sony Alpha A450 is it likely to blow it up? I'm after a cheap Flash Unit and the old Minoltas seem my best bet. I'm aware that i'll have to use it in manual mode and set it manually ect, but i've read on the net that some old flash units have too high a voltage for modern DSLR's and can blow the circuitry. Just wondered if anyone knew which Minolta Flashguns would be safe?

This page used to be one of the biggies on flash trigger voltages. Searches on trigger voltage and related strings might turn up moee information.

Photo Strobe Trigger Voltages

It LOOKS like "most" Minolta flashes have pretty low trigger voltages...
