Very nice! The bird upper left really makes it, I think. It would be a sort of bland post card without it, but with it, there's some life to it.

My one quibble is with the lumps on the right, at the edge of the river. I suppose they are clumps of weeds, perhaps? I find them confusing and out of place. On the one hand they do balance the flying bird, and they definitely add some visual mass, which is nice. On the other hand, I wish I knew what they were! If you could get a little more detail into them, to at least make me think I understand them better, that would (I feel) improve the image.

Might consider a very light vignette on the bottom of the frame, darken that edge down a hair to help the frame out.

Aye the river recently flooded and I think they are the the aftermath of that (the weeds). The initial photo was really misty so I turned up the vibrance a tad to remove some of it but also to highlight the reflections on the river.

Amolitor nailed it. It is a shame for the harsh clumps on this pastel photo and the upper right bird gives the photo depth. Nice.

The bird in flight creates motion and becomes the focus. The winding road leading to the house completes the photograph. Great photo!

Washed out to me means unsaturated colors and a bit overexposed.
