Mono and Silver Lake

Took a trip up to the mammoth Lakes area. Went to check out Mono and Silver lake in the June Loop. Not too great of weather photo wise but took a few anyway.

Nice! Silver lake is one of my favorite places to camp in the summer. Is the road open yet or did you hike in?

Road is open! I thought the second half was going to be closed, but I was surprised. Temp was in the high 60s - low 70s, lot of snow has already melted. Road up to Lake Mary in Mammoth is still closed tho.

Did a lot of skiing there when I was a whole lot younger than I am now. Beautiful area. I lie June lake in the fall, and Mono in the summer, but have always liked Mono in B&W the most...unless you just happened to have a nice roll of Kodachrome......sighhhhhhh.
