More larches

Nice series. I love larch trees because they hold their yellow color long after the deciduous trees loose their colorful leaves. I was in Jasper this weekend and it looked quite similar to what we see here...although I didn't climb any mountains to get the great vistas like you did.

that's one of my goals to visit the rockies in the fall, the other one being Alaska/Canadian North.

I was just talking to my wife about that. We would love to take some time off and spend at least a few weeks up north. There are just so many things to see and photograph.

I haven't really been to the mountains much in the fall...it's always been either the summer or the winter. I should make an effort to get there when the leaves are coloured but still in the trees.

I have driven through the Yukon and into Alaska once...but it was a very fast trip...there and back. My sister was getting married while on a cruise and I wanted to surprise her by showing up.

Amazing series.

I have always liked larches.
The company I work for was responsible for landscaping a new grocery store here in New Brunswick a few year back. The plans called for four larches to be planted behind the store. The following year I had to drive two hours back to the store to remove the trees because the owners thought they were ugly and sickly looking.
They are still growing happily behind my home to this day.

I've seen some pictures of the far north, they are breathtaking. Actually, I've been to Alaska 10 years ago with my family on a cruise but all I remember now is the seafood buffet. :lol:

Back then I wasn't interested in photography, taking pictures was proof I've been there. I still have the point and shoot camera.

How could they call larches ugly?! Some people are so ignorant. Well I'm glad they are still growing happily in your backyard.
