Pigeons, rock pigeons, cliff doves, ring neck doves, morning doves, and more than 300 others all make up the family Columbidae.
They are truly amazing birds that a lot of people miss out on because they are everywhere. You miss what is always in front of you and head off to take 'bird photos'
At one time it was good luck to receive a pigeon at your wedding that you then took home and let roost on your house.
