More spiders

Here are a few new spiders who found their way in front of my lens over the last few days. Comments welcome!

A couple of days ago, I made my PowerShot's little flash a diffuser. #6, #7, and #8 were done using it.

1. Closest shot I've been able to get of a jumper so far. Wish that left front leg that's OOF wasn't so close to the face.

2. A zebra spider eating what looks like an ant.

3. Yet another jumper! This one was found in a blackberry thicket. I wanted to get that thorn in there at the left to add to the feel of the spider's shadowy and prickly environment, but I'm not sure if it's taking up too much space. The spider seems a bit small in the frame. Thoughts?

4. A male funnel weaver with a female. I got a couple of shots without that stem on the left, but I didn't see much point to having the male spider's legs visible on that side, and the stem I thought gave the image a slightly claustrophobic feel.

5. Cross orbweaver female devouring a conspecific. I don't know exactly what went wrong between these two, but I suspect the one who's getting eaten made her web just a wee bit too close to the other's.

6. Another orb. This one I accidentally disturbed in the yard. Moved it to a safe location and took a few pictures. I liked the way its legs reach from the bottom to the top of the frame here.

7. Same orb. Reaching for the camera!

8. Different orb. This wasn't originally intended to be anything but a test of the diffuser, but I noticed while reviewing that there was a vine growing up one of the strands of silk! I thought it was an interesting effect with the spider and vine crawling up towards one another in the gloom.
