What's new

More tshirt shots.

First, the pictures are great. I couldn't agree more with the comment on how relaxed the models look. That is a far-too-often forgotten ingredient.

I am curious why all the centering? Why not shoot off-center. Maybe catch the model's eye using the rule of thirds? Abandon all preconceived notions of what is the "correct" way to shoot.

Just a thought. I really do like the images. They have inspired me to think of T-shirt shoots.

Good question.

For the most part though, It's because these are for the TSHIRTS not for the model. It's not to say I don't do that every now and then, but I think it's more important to make sure the tshirt is the main part of the image, and I am already breaking a "rule" of product photography when I have the models look at the camera sometimes. The rule says that in order to not distract the viewer, you should have the model looking off camera, so the viewers eyes aren't drawn into the models, and instead the focus is on the product. Well, sometimes, I just like the model looking at the camera. LOL

I see your point and I must say, "Very well put." I am not used to product photography. Indeed the product is usually the subject, be it a person, landscape or anything else that catches my eye.

This gives me new insight to photography for selling. Thank you.
