Movie Review: The Town

Criminal with a conscience, "they keep pulling me back in", etc. The movie itself was really good, well done, but I kind of had a problem with the premise that I was supposed to care about the main character. Not only is it hard to care about Ben Afleck, but an armed robber, accessory to murder(s), etc.. Add a stereotypically dumb love interest, and there ya go.

:thumbup: but you have to look past the wanna-be-emotional part of the storyline.

I agree. I loved this movie and think it may be my favorite of the year. I'll have to see Black Swan first though before I make my final pick. :thumbup:

Yes Black Swan looks very good too. I look forward to seeing that one.

I liked the movie, but have to agree with your criticism as well as add one of my own: living in Boston, it really seems like the "character" of Boston was REALLY overdone. By this I mean that in pretty much every scene it's like they were trying to remind the audience that "Hey, this is Boston". That being said, the shootout scene at Fenway was pretty awesome!
