Yes her nails are painted. She was just dry from getting a bath and her nails cut and painted. She had been prissing around so we decided to get some pictures.

Cute dog but the picture needs some reshooting.

You've cut off her legs (in a non-destructive way luckily), there is too much non-contributory space on either side of her (crop it in portrait mode), the picture is underexposed (most of her face has no detail in the shadows) and it seems OOF.

Your f stop should have been fine to capture this, my guess is that you just missed the focus.
