I spotted Andrea busking in Bristol city centre and waited until she took a break before going over to chat with her.

She told me she was from California and was raising money for a bus fare to John O’Groats. A free spirit in the truest sense.

I made a donation to her busking and she kindly agreed to let me take her portrait.

This is my favourite image I’ve taken so far with the Leica. There is something in the way it renders tone, detail and atmosphere that I find incredibly beautiful.

A quiet moment, a few minutes of conversation, and a face full of story.
