Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Good evening everyone. Here is my first HDR attempt. I went all-in:lol: I wanted a very dramatic painting-esque type photo. Any C&C is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

See those halos? Those are what you don't want. I know it's your first try and for that I commend you but for my taste, Ilike to create images that make you scratch your head and wonder if it is or isn't.

Well thank you sir. I am certainly learning so I will definitely keep at it! Thanks again!

I'd suggest finding a scene where an HDR was more applicable. You want something where the camera cannot cover the dynamic range with a single shot. Something with deep shadows AND very bright light.

Second, I suggest creating the HDR with more than one shot. Using one shot (at least if you go RAW) you can get SOME of the HDR results... but it tends to not be all that great.

Third, go easy on the processing. Watch for crazy halos, wacky colors, etc.

I like it, assuming you we're going for the over the top look. For a landscape I agree with trever1t, and like the less obvious HDR styles but with this subject, and the way they are in flight, it works. Reminds me of an illustration in a childrens book - in a good way. My first thought was Peter Pan.

WHOA! THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING FOR.

It's "overcooked"

& if this is a single shot then It's technically not a HDR, just a photo where a HDR filter has been applied.

a shot like this may be better doing a 'dragan' style of processing..

That's my cc

You are sooooo very true with that it isn't a true HDR process. I was just playing around with the software.
