my intention was to just snap some quick photos for some more practice. they ended up turning out great. this is my little niece grace, who loves the camera. first time using RAW too. also, i know there are a few crooked horizon lines. hoping to fix them in due time.

I'm new and still learning so I can't offer any tips or anything. But I just wanted to say I love 3 and 4.

i know the feeling. i do the same thing. just let people know how much i like their photos. ha.

I really like 3 & 4 as well...especially 4, what was your exposure for 4? Also my only advice for some is maybe some fill flash, to even out lighting on face.

i really want to hook myself up with a flash. i need to do more research. right now i'm saving bits of my paychecks for a 55mm lens. i'm very excited!

#1 & #4 are the only ones that you can see her beautiful face, so they get my kudos.

Most people think that they need a new fast lens to get wonderful portrait shots. Surely there is great advice in that, but more people would benefit from an external flash.... and learning how to use it.
