I see that it does have a hot shoe. As is typical of horizontal-travelling, cloth focal plane shutters of that era, the top X-synchronization speed is 1/60 second, and yes, the shoe on the prism is a hot shoe, so there's not a need for the synch port to shoot flash exposures.
