Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Below is a link to a video of my favirote shots taken the first 3 weeks of owning a Dslr. I bought the Nikon D3100. I've been soaking in as much as I can about photography and can notice how each time I go out to shoot, I find myself getting better and better, but still have alot to learn.

Any C&C would be appreciated. Thanks

(The video was made with imovie on IPAD)

I'm a newbie and just watched the video; you have some great shots in there, beautiful colors! I am waiting for my D3100 to arrive in the mail next week and very excited!! Did you do these with your kit lens or did you get yourself a 50mm? How are you enjoying the camera so far?

Thanks for the comments, all were taken with the lens that came with it, love the camera, it's great, I haven't tried video out yet, but I did check out some video tests on YouTube and some of them were pretty impressive. All photos were taken with 15 - 55 mm lens that came with it. Except for the three pics of mushrooms, I did take this with 50 mm 1.8, although I love the lens, amazing how well it Shoots in low light. I've used my buddies cannon, and a d40 nikon and compared to those I really love the 3100, If your new to photography such as myself, word of warning, crazy adicting lol, there are so many lens, flashes, flash defusers, filters, bags, tripods, etc, etc that I want, may end up being a expensive hobby. Good luck, if you have any questions our want to show off your pics let me know, It's nice to get feedback from other people, because it's nuts how easily you can become attached to certain pics you have take, there are a couple in the video that I don't feel are good quality pics, but don't care I love them, lol

I also am new to photography and have the D3100. I love what you have done with them. Your creativity and color is awesome! Did you use the new AF-S 50mm? I am looking into it for my 2nd lens, deciding between that and the 55-200mm VR for more of a telephoto lens. I agree with you with everything you can go out and get and it gets very addicting but I am trying to soak up as much as I can with what I have now so that each time I get something to build my setup it will be used to its fullest.

Thanks, appreciate the compliments. Funny you mention the 50 mm and 200 mm lens. Here's the story. I bought the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens because i wanted something that shot better in low light and after reading all the reviews on how the clarity of the picture is unmatched and the fact it was only 139 i decided to give it a try, I was skeptical because it doesn't do auto focus on the D model Nikons, but tried anyway. Had some decent shots with it, but had alot of trouble focusing it when on 1.8, there's so little room for error it seems when your dealing with appeature that big. So I was going to get the AF-S DX Nikkor 35 mm f1.8 lens, but they are sold out at best buy and thats where i had gift money to so said screw it, I just picked up the 200 mm lens instead and will get the 35 mm another point in time. If your looking for amazing clarity, low light shooting, something great for portriots, check out the 35 mm nikon, has gotten great reviews. Thanks again.

i must say that is a really strange way to ask for critique.

Yeah, I didn't make the video for critique purposes, was more or less testing out the imovie app on ipad, after comming here and seeing many posts of people asking and receiving great critique, I kind of just threw the "C&C appreciated" at the end of the post. The video was more our less just an example of the type of pics that can be taken with a Nikon D3100 with no prior photography experience.

I bought the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens ....... I was skeptical because it doesn't do auto focus on the D model Nikons,
It only doesn't AF on the D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D3100, D5000, and D5100, because they don't have a screw-drive auto focus motor in them to drive the focus mechanism the lens has. But the 50 mm f/1.8D will AF on any other D model Nikon that has ever been made.

I watched the first 15 seconds and turned it off. I'msure your pictures are lovely. I just would much rather look at a picture thats not moving.

they are really average. why is the tree glowing so much in the first shot
