The vast majority of the work I do is in video and I love my T2i for that work. However, once I got it, I started getting into doing stills. As favors for some friends I did some portraits and product shots. This past weekend I was asked to shoot stills and video from a bridal fair runway show.

Canon T2i
Canon EF-S 18-55mm Kit Lens
No flash

Also, I was able to attend the rehearsal the day before and take a lot of test shots. I was shooting at 1600 ISO and my shots were still underexposed and had a ton of noise.

When I shot these during the live show, the people in the seats actually enhanced the lighting (the empty chairs during the rehearsal reflected very little) so I was able to shoot at 800 ISO and 1/250th. I still had some noise, but not enough that PhotoShop couldn't fix the majority of it.

Also, I knew where I was going to be sitting during the show, so I worked with the lighting guys to eliminate some shadow problems I had during the rehearsal.

Had I know all my best shots were the wide shot, I would have used my 28mm 1.8 instead of the kit zoom.

the first one would be so much better to me had she been looking away.. nice shots but nothing eye popping here for me.. I like the exposure on the second one though.
