My first Pheasant

Cool bird. Going quail hunting the 1st of November for a few days with Sadie. Wish I had Pheasants at the farm.

I hope to get a better shot.

They release them a bit north of us in preps for hunting season.

One of our farms is in SE MO. 30 years ago the MDC brought in Phesants to establish the species. This year they finally opened the season statewide for males only. Ive always had a good quail population but have yet to see a pheasant close.

A few months back we drove past a one sitting on a wall, stopped the car, I got out grabbed my camera ran back to the general direction to find it had been pancaked by the car that overtook us

I have been trying to get a good pheasant shot for awhile now. Usually I see them standing at the edge of a field, and by the time I stop the vehicle, grab the camera and back up, They are gone. I have no doubt you will be showing us a print-worthy shot in the near future.

It looks good on my Samsung. When I clicked on it and expanded it things got a trifle blurry. But except for a goose and some seagulls I got nothing.

They are running wild all over the inner city steets in Detroit. They seem to roost in the abandoned fields where homes were once there. Literally all over the place, mostly in the heavily decimated neighborhoods.
