My first praying mantis. Cool bug.

Girlfriends dad said to me as we got out of the car..."got your camera?" to which my reply was "of course". He found a praying mantis in his garden. Yay me. Finally got to shoot a cool bug. He did not cooperate fully, but got a few good shots using various settings, fill and no fill, etc etc....

Here are two from the set.

Nice, you did good! Needed more DOF on #2, though! Why F8 on that one.... needed F16 minimum... F22 preferably!

I started with f/8 and ended with f/16 no reason other than to see the varying results.

Ummm creepy lol feel like he's starring at me. Lol

Neat shots - you certainly seemed to have his/her attention. AS noted, there is a it of a DOF situation, but sometimes you have to take what you can get.

I think they are awesome, I love the detail, except for the slight DOF issue with the second one that has already been mentioned, it's my Fav.
