Out of the 5 pic set, I like 1 & 3 the best. Pic 1 has the Wasp in flight, which is a big plus. the picture looks slightly out of focus, and could use a slight crop to kill some of that dead space to the right. Pic 3 is well composed, and I like the close crop with almost no dead space. Pic 2 isn't well composed. You have that twig going right through the center of the picture dividing it into literally two pictures. Pic 4 almost made my list, but it needs a slight crop, just too much dead space. And pic 5 isn't composed well. The Wasp is is being blocked by the stamen, while it should have been the other way around.

All in all, for your 1st insect set, you did extremely well.

For your first try, they aren't bad! A lot of people, including myself, have trouble even getting the bee into the frame.

There are some compositional issues, however. All of the shots are roughly composed with the subject in the center, something that the human eye generally does not find pleasing. Next time, try to follow some compositional guidelines, for example the Rule of Thirds, you'll see a drastic improvement in how "comfortable" the photo feels to look at. Second, the exposure on 2, 3, and 5 is a bit wonky, almost underexposed a bit. Lastly, whenever you ask for serious CC on an image, it always helps to include the EXIF data ;)

Still, your off to a good start! Just keep shooting!

Thankyou joel_w

The little critters just wouldnt stay still for 2 secs. No sooner had i focused they flew off before i had a chance to take the shot.lol
ideally i would have got some better shots if i d had a ladder. im only 4ft 11 and 3/4. lol so really had to stretch my camera way above my head to get these

thankyou Togalive for your input.
Yes your right i forgot about the exif data. Sorry
all the images were shot at
100 iso, 1/800, f 5. plus 2 stops over on exposure. and camera was switched to auto white balance. :-)
