Well...wasn't expecting this today!

Dubuque Regional Airport is hosting the an armada of vintage World War II training aircraft. They are here practicing their formation flying for their mass fly-in into the huge EAA Oshkosh Airshow. In total there is probably close to 100 aircraft on the field. I had been working out in the hot sun for about 4 hours and decided to step inside the hanger to listen in on a briefing. Before long I was being asked if I wanted to tag along with 25 other T-6's that were going up to practice formation flight. The next thing I knew it I'm strapping on a parachute and sitting in a 63 year old T-6 Texan. The flight lasted a little over 30 mintues in various positions with the other aircraft. What an experience...I'll never forget it!

Wow, you lucky one!
Gone to do air-to-air shooting. Cool! I like them all, but do like #5 best, immediately followed (not only literally ;) :D) by #6!

Excellent work Brett. You can’t get much luckier then that. Once you fly in formation like this all other flying is boring unless you are down low scaring cows :) You did a great job and I see you had excellent lighting for the flight.

Eric

Thanks everybody! Yeah luckily the light was pretty good. It was about 4pm so atleast it wasn't the blazing noon sun. I can't wait until next time...whenever that might be!
