I like your compositions, but your lighting needs some work. Don't worry so does mine. You have a few hot spots on your friend's face in the photos, and your background is a bit too washed out. I am no expert here, but maybe experiment with different angles. And set your white balance to daylight, maybe. 5500 degrees Kelvin.

I'm not too sure about how to help you with the lighting, I'm just learning more about it all. But nice job otherwise.

the 2 i referenced also have a nice warm tone to them. (if your WB was off...i like the effect)

do they seem a bit soft?...

# 6 is for me, and yes, i think you need some work on your lighting. she is beautiful and a nice set of choppers, say beeeer...

I like the photos but in the first two the bright sun ruins them for me. Number 5 a little blurry.

The first two have a lot of glare, but I like them best because of the soft, dreamy affect and the girl's smile. The others seem overly harsh to me.
