my local fire station

Man, that's intense. I think I like the look of the fire truck, but the bricks are kinda harsh on the eye :)

I don't not like it, though :) Hard to explain. Global contrast low, local contrast high!

I find HDR images often to be very flat. This is one of them.

Depth and perspective are lost here.
The windows on the truck are very, very, distracting. A circular polarizer may have helped.

Very cool. I see you took this at a very strong sun point of day. I really like your composition and your colors. I'd just like to tone down the brightness a speck and i think you have a nice capture.

I really enjoy the spirograph in the truck windows. A black out would be so ordinary and predictable. The pattern in the image is quite nice and adds to the overall final result.

How come I knew this was going to be HDR before even clicking the link?

I response to GG -- I took the photograph relatively late in the afternoon shooting into the East so the sun was behind me. But you are right, it was not late enough to be considered a "golden" hour.

You should bring a copy of that by the fire house. I bet they'd dig it...

Send it anonymously in the mail

The perspective distortion is killing this photo. Also the straight forward angle is a bit boring. Your processing seems okay though.
