My macro lens showed up today.

Finally I have a dedicated macro lens. Got the sigma 105mm macro. Didnt have much time but did take a few shots with it. Nothing special but they were at 1:1 which is a little harder than I thought.

Do you find the auto focus to be s l o w ? I bought the same piece of glass a couple of weeks ago and I could swear I could build a small shopping mall in the time it takes it to focus.

IMO, great for macros but horrible for anything in motion. Just wondering what your thoughts were since we use the same piece of glass on the same camera.

Yeah the auto focus is a bit slow but for macro you want to manual focus anyway. Its also pretty loud with auto focus.

GregR: Yeah there are a ton of insects for models in pa. Cant wait to really get away from everything for a day of shooting.
