my second attempt at concert photo

the venue didnt have great lighting and used only red on the stage so there isnt a whole lot of variety. incredible music though.

Astronautalis and Doomtree stop in Denton, Tx

I really liked this one for some reason. I felt like it grabbed a lot of raw emotion..even though the guy in the audience looks a little..well indisposed

this one was my personal favorite out of the bunch. (hard to notice but theres an emcee from Doomtree in the background with his arms and the mic in the air)

not enough ambient light. Jack the ISO up. dont be afraid. Then use noise reduction.

This picture really doesn't work for me. Most of the time when you capture the face of someone in the audience, it's supposed to show the energy of the show.. or at least someone who's happy with being at the concert. His face just screams boredom.

Schwettylens, thats what I was afraid of. I've always done action sports stuff on the lake so I'm used to having tons of natural light to work with and was a little scared of killing the photos with noise. Do you have a preference of 'iso threshold' where you feel theres no fixing the noise? I have always tried to keep it below 800 because of my fear of noise.

jcoffey, you will notice that medium & high tones arent that bad. The bad noise is mostly in the darker region. What I am trying to say is, you will do more damage with underexposing with lower ISO vs good exposure with higher ISO. On the top of that, you still see motion blur on your photos.

ISO way too low, under exposed, noise is better than blur which most of these shot have, all these belong in the recycle bin, sorry
