The conversion is fine but, imo, the photo isn't top notch.
His head and shoulders is squashed into the curve at the top, his legs are bright and too prominent and the end of the 'eye' in the concrete is clipped off.

I spent a solid 30 seconds trying to figure out what was going on, the texture in the conrete is not separated from what's directly behind him and it looks like clouds.. because of this I couldnt tell if he was suspended in some sort of tear drop shaped cone, or if he was in a teardrop cut out... I would suggest playing wiht the color channels to see if you can get some real "concrete" separation between the two.. I agree with the above about the pose too..
