I don't know how to show my exif data. It was a few clouds out tonight.

Not bad but a telephoto lens and a bit faster shutter speed would help.

He was at 300mm.

Your shutter speed was good. ISO 200 is probably gonna be fine, noise-wise.
I think an aperture of f/8 vs. f/5.6 (what you used) would have provided you with a sharper picture. My 70-300 is sometimes pretty soft when wide open.

Other things to do:

mirror lockup, good tripod, self-timer or remote...

I don't know how to show my exif data. It was a few clouds out tonight.

EXIF:

# Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/125 second ===> 0.008 second
# Lens F-Number / F-Stop = 56/10 ===> ƒ/5.6
# Exposure Program = manual control (1)
# ISO Speed Ratings = 200
# Flash = Flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode
# Focal Length = 300/1 mm ===> 300 mm

Lol oh ok, well maybe the moon is small on his side of town XD. And I thought the glowing around the moon was due mostly due to slow shutter speed.

Ok I see it now. Just installed Ffox Drop the ISO to 200. I see you used 155. I'd zoom in more. As for the shutter speed at f5.6, I would start at 1/200 as you have 1/125

Change those and see what you get

white balance.... the moon isn't orange.

Here is my two, limited by the glass that I have.
