Fooling around with natural lighting. CC please if you have the time.

THis is my youngest son. He is 7 years old and a joy. I usually like to shoot in color but, lately I have been into BW for some reason. I know I am not that strong in this area. I am only using natural lighting. I just got LightRoom 5 and trying to work with it. I usually would use PhotoShop and Silver Effex for something like this.

Camera used is Sony A7 lenses used were Nikon 1.5 G and Sony 28-70

I am only using natural lighting.

You said it as if that's an excuse. It's not excuse but a great opportunity. Sure, others will come and say, "Yeah, you need flash or something".
Use what you've got!

I'm on crappy computer at work and can comment just on few things.

#1 cute expression. would benefit from different crop. slice a bit above his head.
#2 #3 #5 I like his expressions but horizontal orientation here doesn't work. composition doesn't work. include his hands and legs.
#4 it has potential. Shoot this in vertical, include the chair and back of a bit
#6 is the best imo. try slightly different angles. include all the chair and get down a bit. look how your floor is leaning.

You have a nice looking son and a great subject to practice with. I also like your chair.

Overall, back of a bit and get down to his level. don't crop his leg and hands like that. try pose #4 just on the floor f. e.

you'll get more replies and suggestions, this all is jmo.

Thanks I will try those suggestions.

I love natural lighting and I think when once can master it, it is very nice! I said that just so people will know what light source I was using. First questions people always ask is about the lighting source, so thought I would clear that up first.

With that said I also really want to get a few flashes and do some off camera/strobing as I like those results as well. I have seen some incredible work on here and the net with folks using .

Thanks again for taking the time to give some good CC!
