Necklace Designer - C&C welcome

Some photos I did for a local jewelry designer. As always, all effects are created with our hands, not with photoshop. Photoshop was only used to clean up the products a little. All other adjustments were done in capture one.

for an artistic photo, I think they are great. especially #2. I like the smoke and the dark background. it is a nice contrast to the lighter, almost translucent necklace. #1 might have a bit of DOF issue with part of the necklace in the foreground, part in the background. it just seems a little hard on the eyes.

as far as a "product photo", i think these are a fail. you lose some detail in the dark, and the sand(?) and smoke are a bit distracting if you are trying to show off these for sales purposes.

The first one I love. The second one I am missing the point on. THe salt or rain or whatever it is is the main focus and the necklace is kind of lost in it. The line where the fall of salt is blocked by the necklace really draws my eye.
