need advice selecting a lens

Looking for a versatile wide angle lens for landscape work (mostly). Using a D80 and have the following lenses now:
28-80 kit
70-300 kit
105 Macro prime

Thinking of a 18-35mm zoom or something similar - any advice? How much should I expect to pay for a reasonable quality lens like this?

Aim higher, think more along the lines of the 12-24. Walk into a shop and use it, and you'll see how much 6mm makes a difference.
