Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I'm completely new to photography and I normally don't do this, but I need alittle help editing this certain picture.

The composition isn't the best and I'm not particular about the stuff in the background at all, but I snapped this the other day when my boys were actually being sweet to each other which rarely happens.. This literally makes the second picture I have since the youngest was born where they both look happy!

I'm usually pretty good at basic editing, but with this one, I just don't know how I can improve it at all. I would really like to be able to print it and send it out with our Christmas cards this year.

If anyone has any ideas about how to improve it, even if just a little bit, please let me know!!

Thank you so much!!

This is what I tried, although I must admit that my PS knowledge is quite limited, and I rarely apply much with regards to PP.

I hate to be harsh, but I'd try and reshoot the shot. It's out of focus and truthfully would be an instant delete for me.

If you use photoshop, and you plan on viewing the image at a specific size ( or maybe print it out or something ) you can play around with the sharpness filter. The problem with increasing sharpness is it increases noise and your images will appear grainy when viewed at a larger size. So say you plan to view it at a max of 800 * 600, set it to this size and try adjusting sharpness.

Increase the contrast a little bit and the down the brightness by 2-5 points.

Cropping the top portion of the image to remove the right edge may help.

( ofcourse, the most important thing is capturing the moment, which you have... )

She likes it cause they both look happy, nothing wrong with that. It's not like it's for a client.

But yeah, stuff to watch out for in the future. It might have been nice if you had framed it lower too I suppose. Oh well. The new crop LaFoto did does look better though imo.

I've always been a fan of B/W. I also blurred the background a bit.

i think it's just fine the way it is. It's a snapshot.

Blurred the background a bit and sharpened the kids...

LaFoto- I like that crop, I actually tried it on the other side before I posted, but it didn't looks as great lol.

Geaux- I would love to reshoot it, and have actually tried countless times as well as hired a pro to do it- it never works. I would have preferred a different background as well but we were just visiting family and just as the youngest was starting to get up I walked in the room, grabbed my camera and shot while I had the chance. 2 seconds later he was gone. :)

I really like the black and white edits and the one by Edsport.

Thank you all so much, I was really really stumped... Now I have to decide what I like more.. lol.. Happy Holidays guys!!:
