need help choosing a camera

Hi guys I'm a Boat captain in south florida and looking for a camera to start taking photos of nature along with amateur hunting and fishing videos.. what camera would you recommend for this? price range id like to stay around $800 or cheaper just starting out.

I'm familiar with the environments you're in and would suggest that something that can stand up to that environment, like a GoPro, would be your first consideration.
There are also some nice one piece cameras that have great features and can stand conditions on a boat and in the field. A DSLR would not be my suggestion unless you're planning on being a full-time photographer and not a captain or outdoorsman.

IMO, you will probably not find what you're looking for on the used camera market, but get something new (i.e.: made recently) in your price range and run it on "auto" until you learn the basics.
