Hi everyone! I am a newbie in photography and I hope you guys can help me with some questions. Here are the equipments I have:

Rebel XSI
EF-S 18-55mm
EF-S 75-300mm
EF-S 10-22mm
Speedlite 430EX II

I take photos of my baby indoor most of the time with the 18-55mm with Speedlite using Portrait mode. They turn out ok. However, I am having problems with the ultra wide angle 10-22mm with Speedlite for parties inside my home. The photos turn out over exposed. When I use the stock camera flash, the photos are under exposed at the bottom. I ended up not using the flash at all and shot it in No Flash mode. What is the best settings for this type of shots?
Also, I will be taking photos at a friend's wedding soon, using probably the 10-22mm and 75-300mm. What setting should I use to get the best pictures?
I know I probably need to take a photography class in the future but any help would be appreciated. Thank you for all your help in advance.

When using the speedlight, turn down the flash compensation a stop or so and see how that works for you.
