Need to know which camera

My friend's mum is wanting to buy an SLR...



She want's to know which one...

Olympus E-300
or
Nikon D50



I also suggested Canon 350D


Which do you think?

(I think she will just be using it for everything you can think of - so don't ask me that. lol)

Tell her to go to a store and hold each one, and pick the one that feels right.

i would say the nikon sumply becaus i don tlike the feel of canon lenses, and would stic with nikon or canon olypus might be fine but i know that canon and nikon are good

I would definitely say to take her to the store and try them all. You will get quality shots with any of the cameras you listed. However, the way each camera feels and the way the controls are layed out, not to mention the different menus, will be a big thing to her.

E300 has really been outdated by the E500.

I like olympus, never used anything else, but the big difference in the 3 you list is the lenses available, the olympus 4 thirds system hasn't really been embraced by the rest of the lens manufaturers, whereas the other makes have lots of aftermarket lenses available.


But buy an E300/500 twin lens kit from new, and that should cover most eventualities anyway.
