I m lil confused which combo is good for better image quality...???

Nikon af-s 300mm f4 ed non vr with 1.4x tc or Nikon 200-500mm f5.6 ed vr....

i now use sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 on my Nikon D7000 but i found images r very soft on long end ....
I want better image quality..

Plz guide me ..

Thanks

I think you should see an improvement from either of the lenses you listed.

Fixed focal length lenses typically provide better, clearer images but you lose the flexibility of the zoom. Ya gotta pay one way or the other..................
The Nikon lenses are more expensive for a reason. In some rare cases a Sigma or other lens may be as good as a similar Nikon lens but in general, no.
One small clue is that the Sigma zoom is up to f6.3 at max zoom while the Nikon zoom stays at f5.6 all the way.
Any lens has a sweet spot and it's not ever at Max Zoom.

Often better image quality is about the photographer's experience and knowledge and not whatever camera/lens the photographer uses.

My Sigma APO 150-500 f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM lens delivered very acceptable sharpness at 500 mm and f/6.3.
I shot this hand holding the camera (Nikon D90) and a Sigma 150-500 mm lens.

I looked at your thread back here.. Looking for advice for change the lens And you didn't answer 2 important questions, 1 do you have a filter on your lens and 2, have you fine tuned the lens? I looked through your flickr and I noticed a little back focus on some of the images. Are you shooting in really hazy, hot conditions? I had the 150-500 briefly a few years back. Here are some samples.. Sigma 150-500 OS

Hi
I fine tuned my sigma but cant find at long end images r still soft ... now i buy a nikon af-s 300mm f4 lens but also keep sigma .. and i dont put any filter on my lens ....

Fixed lenses have better performance at the edges and are generally faster. Go for the fastest lens you can afford. I certainly wouldn't want to do my composition looking through an f5.6 aperture if I could have a brighter viewfinder.
