needed a new toy so I ordered a lensbaby

Yep. Getting antsy as I save my pennies for my 70-200 so I just ordered a lens baby yesterday with the creative aperture kit all for under 60 used. I'm excited!! I think it will be fun to mess with. Shooting with a model soon and may try some with it then also
Anyone else have one here? I'd love to see some images

Here is a gallery of Lensbaby (original variant) images made back in 2005. Lensbaby: A Summer Day with Spencer Photo Gallery by Derrel at pbase.com The original Lensbaby created a VERY diffused, aberration-filled image when used with thew wider f/stop washers. Lensbaby 2.0 had a multi-element lens, which was much sharper in the middle, and had less corners and edge distortions, and was a royal PITA to use, and was basically, a total failure. The third variant used the rods and bracing to allow you to "adjust" the focus ands tilts and so on and KEEP them in a specific position, shot after shot, but was so awkward that the newer "Composer" design supplanted it. I bought all three of the first models. I believe they are now up to their fifth type.

One thing I used to do was to use a manual focus Nikon teleconverter, like a TC14B or TC201, to make the Lensbaby into a telephoto length.

I have an Original and a 2.0 Lensbaby (more than one actually to fit different cameras) but I don't think I have any pictures scanned in. I used them outdoors and with the trees/leaves got more of that look of movement.

I don't find them hard to use but I use mechanical film cameras so maybe I'm used to the hands on way of manipulating them - they're like little bellows that you move in and out to focus, then tilt. The newer ones of course work differently so you don't have to hold the camera and manually adjust and focus the Lensbaby.

It's an old 2.0 I picked up! I am hoping its not too crazy to use but considering I got it for next to nothing I could probably re-sell it on ebay if I hate it. lol
