Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
ok, so i decided to take the same exact shot with two lenses, one with my brand new 35mm prime, take a shot with that, then take the same exact shot again with my 18-55 kit lens set to 35, its a small test, but ill get more tomorrow if its not raining again since it got delivered while i was at work today.

2. 18-55mm set on 35. White balance-incandescent, ISO 400 f5 1/2.5 of a second

the first thing i noticed was the shutter speed, this lens is gonna be amazing for indoor shots using natural light, but i also heard there was supposed to be better quality on prime lenses, the focus point is on spidermans back above the spider where the blue is

after looking carefully it seems the prime lens is more out of focus than the zoom set to 35 with the same exact focal point

please disregard the moon shot, i dont know how to get rid of it

Are you sure your settings are right?? I don't believe you can even use an aperture that large (f/3.5) at 35mm on the kit lens - or at least not on mine. I think the largest aperture is around f/5.

wow, youre right, the RAW image data says 5.6, i dont know how i didnt catch that, i guess i was trying so hard to keep everything the same that i forgot , im off to retake these

The 35 should be sharper then the kit. The depth of field was shallower with the 35mm lens then the shot with the kit lens. I'm on my phone so it's hard to tell but the 1st picture doesn't look out of focus. What did you focus on?

Also, personally, I would wait to do a comparison test until you have more light. Those shutter speeds are really long - I'm assuming you did use a tripod, but a faster shutter speed will still be more beneficial in this kind of test. Or at least raise your ISO higher to get a faster shutter speed.

yeah, on a tripod, im about to edit my two pictures, now they are both at f5 same shutter speed and same focus point

ok, disregard the attached pictures, the first post i have is at f5 same shutter speeds, looking closer on view nx2 i do notice the prime to be a tad sharper under the same exact settings

this DOF is crazy, only half the coin is in focus, and barely at an angle to even warrant having a depth of field

a more on top straight down view
