New 50mm and some test shots. C&C appreciated!

So I got an early Christmas present today. A brand new Nikon 50mm f/1.8G :mrgreen: I took some shots of Dublin streets on Christmas Eve. Here are a few examples. C&C would be greatly appreciated!

1. I don't know what is in the bottom left area but it's very distracting. Also, the highlights on his hand are blown out.
2. Highlights on his book are blown out and my personal taste is I don't really like the reflection.
3. Best of the 3 in my opinion but I would've raised the blacks a little, and given the man a little for room from the edge. When you put your subject so close to an edge it brings attention to the edge so it's more of a picture than a "window".

The main problem is that all of these photos are simply snapshots (with maybe the exception of 3). I would look into learning more composition og photographs.

The thing in the bottom left of the first photo is some music maker thing...I don't know exactly but it was actually why I took the photo in the first place. And now that you mention it, I never realised the hands or the book was blown out.
