I just ordered a 24X24 speedlight softbox that i will use with a vivitar 285hv and a boom from Steve Kaeser for some hair light!

I finally got myself a studio instaid of shooting in my basement! Its slowly coming together and i am really happy about it!



I was comparing this one vs the lastoliteand i couldnt justify the 40$ vs 179$ for the lastolite.
It doesnt have the second inner baffle but for hair light i think the outer sheet will be allright.
if its it doesnt do the job, ill use the bracket to make a DIY beauty dish.

anyone have good bad experiences with the ebay speedlight softboxes?

Wow. I'm a bit envious as I'd like to be where you are in your career. I'm just getting to the point where most of my shots are coming out as intended and I'm close to mastering most of the functions on my camera. I'm starting to wonder if I can make some money as well but I'm hardly ready to quit my day job. Good luck with your new studio.

Most of things I've got from ebay is OK. But you have to asking to the seller any questions to make you clear and make sure that this is what you're looking for.

Thank you! its quite exciting let me tell you. However, I dont think i am going to quit my day job pretty soon since i am making a pretty good junk of money doing what i am doing and i would have to shoot alot to make the same income.

I have the studio for pretty much nothing since a friend own the place and doesnt rent it anymore. It was a dance studio a few years ago but hes keeping it for himself. Its alot more professional and i was not shooting in studio that much since i didnt feel comfortable bringing random people to my house with 2 too friendly dog running around! I had everything in my basement and i was tired of setting upo everything for a shoot and take everything down because my home theater was behind my backdrops haha

I finally received the softbox, i had a little suprise ! it is really a nice deal since IT HAS a internal white baffle like the more expensive lastolite one. construction is similar to the lastolite, comes with a seperate zipper bag for the softbox, and a nice large thicker zipper bag for the softbox and the mount + bracket.

The only disapointement i have right is the stand mount. It has like a ball that permit the whole thing to move 360 but its dosnt lock properly. its all metal but, it doesnt lock straight. I will buy another mount that works for like 15 bucks so its still a great deal! i recommend it
