I've ordered from them several times...and yes, if you choose ground shipping, you will very likely get dinged with brokerage fees...and I have no idea how to estimate what those will be.

What I do, is choose UPS Expedited shipping. It costs more, but there is no brokerage..and it's really fast. On more than one occasion, I've had shipments come from Alien Bee (in Tennessee) reach me within 24 hours of placing my order.

You will have to pay UPS for the GST (and maybe PST, I don't know)...either when you take delivery or they'll send you a bill later.

Get the AlieaBees B800 it has great power for the money. I feel the b400's just don't pack a whole lot of power. If your going to take them on-location and shoot outdoors I would suggest the AlieanBees b1200
